It is something which you want to do, have to do, and which is being done by you. Sadhana is self-enrichment. It is not something which is done to please somebody or to gain something. Sadhana is a personal process in which you bring out your best." - Yogi Bhajan
Daily Sadhana is a discipline. It fits into your life like brushing your teeth and walking the dog. It is Life with its joys and openings, sometimes frustrations and sadness. Sometimes it is difficult, but the results are usually sweet.
A Sadhana practise may consist of meditation, chanting, kriya(physical action), mudra(particular hand actions), or pranayama(breath work) or a combination of some or all of these.
For it to be effective it must fit into your life. At first it may be difficult to practice your Sadhana; it may seem too hard, you may seem too tired. It may seem too long or perhaps even silly...this is when the discipline part of the practice begins. Set your alarm and get out of bed! Remember always that it is for YOU and that you are worth the time and the attention. You will appreciate it and so will all the people that you come into contact with through the day. You will find yourself smiling and people you do not know will respond with smiles and greetings. You will feel better from the inside out and your sense of Self will grow stronger.
